SUSPENDED ANIMATION: #WHATDOYOUSEE #WDYS #140

For the visually challenged reader this image shows a half empty glass being held by someone. The liquid from the glass is suspended in the air as if it has been splashed out of the glass. In the background you can see a cloudy sky and mountains.

SUSPENDED ANIMATION

Desperate to escape the narrow confines
Of it’s lean glass container
And return to it’s fresh; natural surrounds
The water flings itself out!
Into the air, searching for it’s liquid home
Flowing down the mountainside.
Temporarily flying and joyously free.
Just then, time stops.
Everything comes to a standstill.
Suspended in indefinite animation
It’s plans put on unnatural hold
Every silver lining has a cloudy sky.

This poem was written in response to Sadje’s #140 #WhatDoYouSee #WDYS Poetry Image Prompt using the image above. Should you wish to participate in the prompt then you can access it through the following link: https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/2022/06/27/what-do-you-see-140-27-june-2022/
