“For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a copse of trees, reflected in the water. There is a mystical light shining between the trees thatβs also reflected in water.”
This is my offering to Sadjeβs #WhatDoYouSee #WDYS Poetry Image Prompt. Hope that ye enjoy the read! π€ππ
There’s a light
A bright; glowing orange light
At end of the tree shaped tunnel
(Where does the light lead?
Is it the beginning
Or end of something?!)
Tall; towering trees
Stooping down to greet you
On your journey
With their creaking branches
Providing cover and protection
From the elements
(Reflected
In the still water’s mirror)
Creating the impression
Of another level,
Turned upside down
Lying beneath the ground
Underneath the surface
An alternate universe
Full of hidden depths
Same light
But no sky Same trees
But no grass
Life or death
Fantastical; mythical
Yet.
Is it all just an illusion?
A dark duplicate
A sinister simulation
Or an imaginative trick
Of the lens?!

A journey of speculative thoughts Ken. I prefer to believe that itβs a brighter outcome to which this path leads. Thanks a lot for joining in my friend

Your writing is very cinematic , Ken. Gives a feeling that one is watching a scene unfold on the big screen. Your words are vivid and vibrant and can spill images in the readerβs mind. Very artsy .. you are loaded with talent.

Like Sadje, i would like to believe that there is light at the end of the tunne…i’m sure we all want that; but in reality it doesnt always happen as we want it….very moving piece Ken.

Thanks very much Michelle, I appreciate your honest feedback! πππ You’re right, it doesn’t. But that’s the beauty of these pics Sadje shares, they’re open to the artist’s/poet’s interpretation. I was just going with my imagination even though I know from experience that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. Even if that tunnel happens to be very long! πππ
