This week Ingrid over at d’Verse Poetics has challenged us to get in touch with our Visionary self whilst Sarah David, the PoW over at The Skeptic’s Kaddish‘s Wea’ve Written Weekly has encouraged us to write a poem about dreams in 14 lines or less. Below lies my contribution: ๐๐๐
CHASING DREAMS
Memories of dreams are most elusive
I dream a dream in the midst of REM
Then I wake up,
I always wake up
And the dream is no more
I can’t remember them
That’s the thing about dreams
They never last forever
And I spend the rest of the day
Chasing after snippets of it
In the mental corridors of my mind
Trying to piece the dream together.
And recapture the hope it gave me
The comfort it brought

Well done, Ken. I too have chased dreams during the day trying to piece together snippets of it!
Dreams don’t last forever… that is a great line.

Absolutely my experience with dreams Ken. They have to be extremely vivid for me to remember them. I suffer from night terrors so many dreams that I have are of nothing, just the horror of an ever expanding void.
