INDISPOSABLE TIME: Ragtag Daily Prompt (Disposable)

For today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt Bushboy has given us the word: DISPOSABLE as our source of poetic inspiration. Below lies my contribution: ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

INDISPOSABLE TIME

Disposable waste
Dumped on our land
And our streets
Leaves a poor taste
Everytime we greet
Greedy mercenaries
With disposable morals
Traffic disposable lives
In small boats full of big dreams
Across the seas
Full of disposable waste
And disposable razors
That lack a cutting edge
And disposable wipes
That we must continually dredge
Up from our pipes and our drains
All bought with disposable income
From disposable jobs
That’s not so disposable these days
One thing that we can’t dispose of though
Is time.
Once you throw that away
There’s no getting it back.
It’s indisposable!

  1. Great job with that prompt! We do live in a disposable society! If something isn’t to our liking we just toss it aside – boxes, containers, jobs, relationships, even pets and children… it will be our ruin!

    1. Completely agree with you Muri! ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘It’s become a byword for modern society. If it doesn’t suit or the outgrown it’s use then throw it/them out, dispose of them. It’s very sad really! โ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธ

      1. Thanks very much Joni! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š I’ve heard of that prompt alright. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ Couldn’t agree more with you. It’s also improved mine!

  2. How true! I’ve been quite disgusted with how the world treats our resources, and people, as disposable. I’ve sewed my own reusable paper towels. I did cloth diapers. I try hard to always choose food with the most sustainable packaging. It’s hard though when you walk through the store and see how much waste is waiting to be bought and thrown away. It can be disheartening.

    1. Spot on Bridgette! We do our best here to recycle everything we can recycle and use up all the food we cook. Fair play to you on sewing your own paper towels! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ฎNever heard of someone doing that! Ah some people just want to buy/do stuff that’s easy rather than right. We just got to keep doing our own thing hoping that makes a difference.
