EFFERVESCENT LIGHT

The poem below is dedicated to & inspired by my oldest girl: Grace. Hope you all enjoy the read! πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ˜πŸ“–

EFFERVESCENT LIGHT

She’s a sponge
She’s a light
A curious cat
Beacon in the night

She’s effervescent
A pure delight
Sparkling & carefree
Full of love & life

She’s a big heart
Wears it on her sleeve
Clever & whip smart
Like a summer breeze

A breath of fresh air
A human dynamo
Full of natural energy
Always on the go

She’s fully plugged in
To another source
Out of this world
An ethereal force

Of sensitive strength
A spirit that’s tough
An intuitive mind
That calls your bluff

She’s Rapunzel
She’s a princess
A mischief maker
Who likes to mess

She’s painting pictures
And building blocks
Melting our hearts
As she turns the key to unlock

The inner child in us
Inviting us out to play
To keep learning
Something new each day

She’s full of Grace
A gift from God
Irrepressible
And beautifully odd

  1. Awwww…. Such a lovely poem! Keep a good hold of it – that’s your speech sorted, when she’s getting married! ‘Irrepressible and beautifully odd’ – Your daughter sounds like a very interesting person!

    1. Ah, thanks so much Britta! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ™ Nice one πŸ‘ because I’m useless at making speeches. πŸ˜›πŸ˜‚ She’s one in a million. Has an insatiable curiosity and desire for knowledge with a wonderfully sensitive spirit! 😁 We’re blessed with her & little sis!

    1. Thanks very much Cindy, delighted you enjoyed it! πŸ™πŸ˜πŸ˜Š She hasn’t seen it yet. Saving all the poems I’ve written for her & Ava for when they’re older.

  2. You’ve captured her essence in this poem! I can only imagine how much she will love this poem when she is older. My father was very into counted cross-stitch and made several wall hangings – he gave me one for my wedding. If he’d have put something like this on it I’d have loved it even more than I did. (It is hanging above my bed)!

    1. Ah, thanks so much Muri! πŸ™πŸ˜ Very kind of you to say! 😊 I sincerely hope I did and hope she will! 🀞🀞Counted Cross stitch sounds beautiful & fascinating. Ah, I’d be lost without the girls even though they drive me slowly around the bend. πŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My poetry is my way of showing them that I love them and that this is what “Daddy did”, ya know?! 😁

  3. I love every single word in this poem. What a lucky girl to have a father who sees her fully. My favorite words are the last two “beautifully odd”β€”what a prefect description of your remarkable girl and something I think everyone wants to be.

    1. Thanks very much Bridgette, delighted you enjoyed it! πŸ™πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ She’s a wonderful kid! β€οΈπŸ€—πŸ‘ And I want her to know it too! Yeh, a few poeple have mentioned they like those 2 words. If we could all see ourselves as that we’d be doing okay! πŸ‘πŸ˜πŸ˜Š
