About

My name is Ken Hume. Back in 2011, I self-published my very first collection of poetry and lyrics called: ‘Snowstorm of Doubt & Grace’, co-written with my mother: Caitriona and printed by Original Writing.

Prior to this, I had a weekly column in my local paper: Tullamore Tribune for nearly 3 years critiquing new film releases; reviewing live music acts and writing book reviews

After ‘Snowstorm of Doubt and Grace, I took the opportunity to pursue my interest in movies and acting further by taking a non-speaking role in a short-comedy film called ‘Who’s the Stronger Sex: A Role Reversal’ which was followed up by a short 15 minute horror movie called ‘IT HUNGERS’ and a short stint in TADS: Tullamore Amateur Dramatic Society

I am currently working on a follow up poetry collection called “What Happened Next” as well as a tribute collection to all the loved ones in my life, past and present. It is my hope to branch out into short story writing in the near future and will also be posting them up on my blog. So please keep an eye out on my blog for weekly blog goals on Mondays; new poetry every Wednesday and Throwback Thursday Film Reviews on, you’ve guessed it: every Thursday; Favourite Poetry Quotes on Friday; poetry prompts on Saturday and my weekly Blog Recap on Sunday. 😁

When I’m not writing or blogging, I’m a husband to an amazing; strong and beautiful woman called Anne & father to 2 very funny; clever and curious girls by the names of Grace and Ava, all of whom are a constant source of wonder and creative inspiration to me!

  1. Thank you for telling us about yourself. It is nice to know a bit about the poet and writer. Wishing you great writing and good luck with your short stories too. I have a mentor now and looking forward to getting where I can hopefully do that as well. Best to you my friend. Big hugs to you and your family, Love Joni
